Remedial massage with Menzies-Massage is a more specialized service than regular massage. It undertakes a comprehensive case history, and discusses options and techniques to both remove causes and treat symptoms with specialist massage techniques, hot or cold applications, stretching or strengthening exercises are often suggested. A follow up test is often used. Myofascial techniques, hot stones, cupping, trigger point therapy, deep tissue massage, Lymphatic drainage, Tens machine or dry needling may be used in a session.
NB; Soft tissue injuries may require up to 6 sessions before noticeable results to occur.
Menzies-Massage is able to offer two forms of support.
Pre-event: concentrating on soft tissues to help reduce the chances of tearing and increase endurance.
Post-event: concentrating on the nervous system. Cooling and calming techniques are used to help reduce delayed onset of muscle soreness (DOMS) and decrease fatigue and time to repair muscle cells.

In my early teaching days, most people who came to gentle yoga were pregnant women and seniors with injuries. Nowadays at Menzies-Massage I see more and more young people stepping in, wanting to be gentle with their body.
